Mt. Holly, North Carolina (Jan 19 2024) –
RhizeBio, a pioneer in advanced machine learning technologies for soil microbiome analysis, is proud to announce its selection as one of the ten game-changing AgTech startups for the 2024 AgLaunch365 Accelerator Program. The Memphis-based AgLaunch Initiative carefully chose RhizeBio from a competitive pool of applicants spanning 8 countries and 18 U.S. states.
AgLaunch365 is a leading accelerator program dedicated to addressing contemporary challenges in farm and food production while promoting sustainability. RhizeBio’s innovative approach to soil testing caught the attention of AgLaunch farmers during the rigorous six-month application and selection process. The process included farmers voting on the impact these technologies could have on their farms, leading to a Challenge Week in Memphis.
RhizeBio provides a low-cost, high-tech soil testing approach that utilizes machine learning to decode the complexity of the soil microbiome. This approach reveals a range of vital characteristics for enhanced plant growth and production. The company’s mission is to demystify one of the most biologically complex environments in the world – our soil.
“Our ultimate goal is to empower people with answers.“ said Josh Toal, Co-Founder and COO at RhizeBio. “We aim to achieve this by utilizing our machine learning technology for soil microbiome analysis to give farmers and biological input manufacturers the answers needed to improve soil health and increase their yields”.
As part of AgLaunch365, RhizeBio will collaborate directly with AgLaunch farmers to conduct on-farm trials of its innovative soil testing technologies. The program includes business development sessions covering funding options, go-to-market strategy, and customer discovery, along with ongoing coaching and mentorship from AgLaunch and its network of agricultural and business experts.
The selected startups, including RhizeBio, will be featured in a pitch event at Farm Journal’s Top Producer Summit on Feb. 5-7 in Kansas City, as well as the Mid-South Farm and Gin Show Innovation Station on March 1 in Memphis.
AgLaunch Vice President of Innovation, Margaret Oldham, highlighted the farm-centric model that plays a pivotal role in the selection process. “This is truly an outstanding cohort thanks to our network of diverse, innovative farmers. They not only help us select the most promising ag technologies but become vital business partners with the entrepreneurs. This farm-centric model is what allows us to scale small businesses and bring new technologies to market with more success while providing our farmers a pathway to ownership in the process.”
